Those two words perfectly sum up our mission statement, what we are all about here at First Assembly.
Loving the God that created us in His image and in serving Him, finding purpose and passion in our lives.
We love God because He first loved us, unconditionally. We all have past regrets, mistakes and areas of weakness in our lives that we struggle to conquer. Our past DOES NOT have to be our future. The Bible tells us that if any person is in Christ he is a new creation, the old (life) is gone, the new (life) has come!
In experiencing God's love and forgiveness we are able to find healing in every area of our lives. From addictions, abuse and tragedies we've suffered, God offers us His comfort and peace in very difficult and uncertain times. Many feel as though church involvement is just for good or perfect people. God wants us to come to Him just as we are. There are no perfect people at First Assembly. We don't walk in perfection but we do walk in love.
Because of God's grace and love that has changed our lives, we are called to serve others. Whether it is our annual Block Party, our Ladies Nite Out, helping families in need or our support of foreign missions. We strive to make a difference in people's lives, especially when they are hurting and feel lost. The most important ministry we have here at First Assembly is our prayer ministry. Twice a week we have prayer teams that meet to pray for the needs of not only our church family but of our community and our world.
